FRENCH VIOLIN by LAMY

Made in the Mirecourt region, circa 1900, by this famous French workshop. The model is "Breton", which is also stamped on the button, and this instrument has an attractive two piece maple back and a pretty golden orange colour varnish. The tone is clear and sweet.

ENGLISH VIOLIN by GEORGE STOTT

G Stott

Made in Liverpool, England in 1917, this violin bears the original label and is also branded on the back near the button. The varnish is of a rich red colour on a golden ground and the one piece maple back has a very attractive figure.
